500 grams prawns, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons oil or ghee

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 tomatoes, finely chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced
6.
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
7.
1 tablespoon curry powder
8.
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
9.
1 teaspoon ground cumin
10.
1 teaspoon ground coriander
11.
1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste
13.
1 cup coconut milk
14.
Fresh coriander for garnish
15.
Lemon wedges for serving

Cooked basmati rice or naan bread for serving
Direction
Step 1
Heat oil or ghee in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.
Step 2
Add chopped onions to the pan and saute until they become translucent.
Step 3
Stir in minced garlic and ginger, sauteing for an additional minute until fragrant.
Step 4
Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they soften and release their juices.
Step 5
Sprinkle curry powder, ground turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, red chilli flakes, salt, and pepper over the mixture. Stir to combine.
Step 6
Add prawns to the pan, ensuring they are coated with the spice mixture. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the prawns turn pink and opaque.
Step 7
Pour in coconut milk and stir well. Allow the curry to simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld together.
Step 8
Remove the pan from heat. Garnish with fresh coriander.
Step 9
Serve the Prawn Curry hot with a side of lemon wedges. Pair it with steamed basmati rice or warm naan bread.
Note
